faq

you ask,
we answer.

contact us
how much caffeine is in hojicha?

much less than matcha or coffee. hojicha is made from roasted green tea leaves, and roasting lowers the caffeine. it's low in caffeine, not caffeine free.

what's the difference between hojicha and matcha?

both come from the same tea plant. matcha is shade-grown, unroasted and bright green, with more caffeine. hojicha is roasted, which makes it brown, roasty and low in caffeine. matcha for mornings, hojicha for evenings.

how do i make a hojicha latte?

whisk 3 g of hojicha with a splash of hot water, then top up with about 200 ml of steamed milk. oat milk works beautifully. add a little honey or maple syrup if you like it sweeter.

how long does a tin last?

a 30 g tin makes about 10 cups, a 100 g tin about 33.

how should i store my hojicha?

keep it tightly sealed in a cool, dry place away from light, heat and moisture.
